Island Montessori is pleased to assist families with an After School Care program for all students. The program is run daily until 5:00pm, and is staffed by our teacher and assistants, who are known to our students and families. Subject to weather, our Aftercare program is held outside in the fresh air with a variety of activities available each day. The Aftercare program operates under the same strict staff to student ratios we maintain in all our classes, and as such availability is always subject to staffing. For more information, please email us at Info@islandmontessori.org.

Bullying Hurts! We all expect students to feel safe in school and out of school, and have a good understanding of the issues relating to safety, including bullying. We want our students to feel confident to seek support from our school or their trusted care givers should they ever feel unsafe. Our Anti-Bullying Policy is drafted on the Cayman Islands National model policy.

Our behaviour policy is drafted to support the way in which all members of the school can work together in a supportive way, and is based on practices of respect and etiquette. As such our behaviour policy is not heavily concerned with ‘rule’ enforcement, but rather it is designed to encourage good behaviour, rather than merely deter anti-social behaviour.

Island Montessori has CCTV cameras installed in our classrooms and externally around the property to protect our school staff and families. To learn more on how we manage our CCTV use please read the link at left.

Island Montessori takes its responsibilities seriously to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in its care. We recognize and acknowledge that our shareholders, directors and employees have a statutory obligation to report evident or suspected abuse or neglect of a child in our care.

Island Montessori is committed to an effective child protection policy which provides clear direction to our staff and others about expected management and behaviour when dealing with child protection issues. This policy is based on the National Policy, and founded on good practice and sound procedures, ensuring that child protection concerns, referrals and monitoring are handled sensitively, professionally and in ways which support the needs of the child.
